I am unable to get to the Library before my items are due back?
You may give the Library a ring to extend any items that are on your card if you require a longer time period for any reason (if they are able to be extended).

My books are overdue?
If items are not returned within the specified loan period, you will receive a friendly reminder to do so. If the items are still not returned or extended, you will be sent an account for the outstanding items, and your borrowing privileges will be suspended. When the items are either returned or paid for, your account will be cleared and your borrowing privileges reinstated.

The item I want has already been borrowed by someone else?
You may place a reservation on items that are out on loan. To do this, you will need your Borrower Number (located on your Library card), and your Personal PIN Number. (If you do not have a PIN, please contact the Library.) You may place a reservation online, using the online catalogue, and also at the Library using the Public Access Catalogue computers. Alternatively, you may ask the Library staff for assistance.

I am unable to visit the Library myself and have no-one to collect items for me?
The Library provides a Housebound Delivery Service to those who are unable to physically visit the Library to select books, and have no friends/family who are able to do collect items for them. This is a restricted service to approved patrons only, as it is maintained by a team of volunteers. Deliveries take place fortnightly, and can include all items at the Library from books to DVDs and Videos.
To see if you are eligible for this service, please contact the Library.

The Library does not hold the particular item I am wanting to borrow?
The Library may aquire items that are not held from other Libraries within South Australia, through an Inter-Library Loan service. The Library staff will access a database to locate your required item, and then place a request for it on your behalf. This service is free to registered users, and the item will take approximately 1-2 weeks to arrive. Occassionally the request may not be fulfilled, in which case you will need to contact the Library to re-order the item for you.
Items requested from the State Library of South Australia will need to be viewed within the Library.
Items requested from a University, or not located within South Australia will incurr a charge.

An item I have borrowed is damaged or destroyed while in my care.
Where possible, please return the damaged item to the Library. In most cases, the replacement cost for the item will need to be paid, or you may purchase an exact copy of the item and donate to the Library as replacement for the damaged item.
