The University of South Australia Department of Rural Health is currently undertaking one of the largest health surveys ever to be conducted in regional South Australia. The purpose of the survey is to understand the health care needs of people living in regional SA in order to identify areas where the health system and local services could improve to better serve these needs. To date, more than 1,000 regional South Australians have taken part in the survey.

You are cordially invited to attend a public lecture at the University of South Australia to hear more about this important research, and to be among the first to see the initial findings of the survey. These findings will allude to the high rates of mental illness and chronic disease in regional SA, and the multiple barriers to accessing the health services that regional South Australians need.

The presenters – Dr Matthew Leach and Associate Professor Martin Jones - will not only share key findings from the survey, but also explore ways that health services could be enhanced to better serve our communities. The view is that by working together we can improve the health and wellbeing of regional South Australia.
