Railway Station Building

Mount Gambier Railway Station – 1A Railway Terrace.

The City of Mount Gambier is welcoming commercial enquiries from suitably positioned applicants for the tenancy of the Mount Gambier Railway Station Building.

Since its establishment in 1918, the Mount Gambier Railway Station Building has played an important role in the development of our city and holds a special place in the hearts of many in our local community.

Recent restoration works have returned the local heritage building to its former glory and created an exciting opportunity for its reactivation as a jewel in the crown of the Mount Gambier Railway Lands precinct.

The site is perfectly positioned as a central connector between the Central Business District and the Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre - a brand new intergenerational facility which will change the landscape of the surrounding precinct.

In pursuing a well-considered and sustainable commercial outcome for the site, initial applications are invited from operators with demonstrated capacity to harness its unique potential.

Interested parties should carefully review the Application Invitation along with the City of Mount Gambier CBD Guiding Principles 2022 before applying.

Applications proposing concepts which address the desired objectives for the site (as detailed within the Application Invitation) can be made in writing to:

Ben Kilsby

Strategic Development and Engagement Coordinator

bkilsby@mountgambier.sa.gov.au

Council will review all applications and suitable candidates will be invited to further explore the commerciality of their concept in collaboration with the City of Mount Gambier or a suitable commercial partner.

Enquiries can also be made by phoning Council on 8721 2555 during office hours.

All applications will be treated as commercial in confidence.
