Lifelong Learning Community

Learning is one of several strategic goals and City of Mount Gambier are moving forward strongly with an articulated vision and strong support to achieve this.

By striving to become an ‘earning and learning’ community we are driving the development of local career, education and entrepreneurship pathways that build skills to grow the economy, facilitate new businesses, and provide exciting and relevant employment opportunities for all our people.

Mount Gambier has much to be proud of with the achievements of its community, which has grown through a culture of lifelong learning incorporating informal and formal education.

The City is serviced by six reception to year 7 (R-7) primary schools:

  • Reidy Park Primary School,
  • Mount Gambier North Primary School,
  • McDonald Park,
  • Melaleuca Park,
  • Mulga Street Primary School, and
  • Suttontown Primary School.

There are two reception to year 12 (R-12) colleges:

  • Tenison Woods College, and
  • St Martins Lutheran College.

There are two high schools for year 8 to 12:

  • Mount Gambier High School, and
  • Grant High School.

Mount Gambier also has a tertiary education offering including;

  • UniSA Campus
  • TAFE SA Campus
  • Flinders University Rural Clinical School
  • Southern Cross University
