A network of major highways and sealed secondary roads make your driving journey here a pleasure.

Fly in via the Mount Gambier airport with regular services from from Adelaide and Melbourne.

There are daily bus services from Adelaide and Melbourne.

Vehicle hire is also available with pick up at the airport.

Regular return flights are available between Mount Gambier and Adelaide and Mount Gambier and Melbourne from the Mount Gambier Regional Airport with Qantas Link and Regional Express (REX) Airlines.

Four routes service the city Monday to Friday including stops near the major city attractions.

City of Mount Gambier provides free bike hire. Two bikes are available at the Mount Gambier Visitor Centre, and the Mount Gambier Library. Two trikes are available at the Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre.

Community Transport FAQ

Timetables and maps for both the city and school buses can be picked up from the Council Office, (Civic Centre, 10 Watson Terrace). More specific enquiries can directed to the operator, Mount Gambier Bus Lines on 08 8725 9978.

The Australian Red Cross provides the Community Passenger Network, a service provided by trained volunteer drivers. For further information, please phone 08 8725 3622.

The application form for Transport Assistance on the South Australian Transport Subsidy Scheme, (SATSS) is available from the Council Office, (Civic Centre, 10 Watson Terrace). The completed form is to be returned to the address on the application.

PATS forms can be collected and returned to the PATS Office at the Mount Gambier Hospital, Wehl Street North or visit the PATS website.
