Citizen Of The Year Awards

The Citizen of the Year Awards celebrates and recognises individuals and organisations that have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year and/or given an outstanding service over a number of years to a local community over and above normal employment duties.

Outstanding contribution and community service include areas such as; education, health, fund-raising, charitable and voluntary services, business, sport, arts, the environment, or any other area that contributes to the advancement and wellbeing of a community.

Nominations are open for:

  • Young Citizen of the Year (persons under 30 years of age on 26 January 2024)
  • Citizen of the Year (persons 30 years of age or older on 26 January 2024)
  • Senior Citizen of the Year (persons 60 years of age or older on 26 January 2024)
  • Community Event of the Year, for events, staged during 2023
  • Active Citizenship, delivery of outstanding work on an event or cause staged during 2023

Nominations will be accepted until 5:00pm on Friday 17 November 2023 and should be marked ‘Citizen of the Year Awards 2024’ and posted to City of Mount Gambier, PO Box 56, Mount Gambier SA 5290 or emailed to city@mountgambier.sa.gov.au. Nominations can also be made online at citizenoftheyear.com.au
