City of Mount Gambier invites all members of the community, together with visitors to Mount Gambier, to celebrate what’s great about being Australian at the Australia Day Breakfast and Awards Ceremony.
The annual event will begin at 7:30am with breakfast provided by the Lakes Rotary Club of Mount Gambier. Breakfast is available for purchase for $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children, with all proceeds being donated to Regional Foodbank, The RFDS Mount Gambier Patient Transfer Facility and Uniting Care. Donations can also be made to the Rotary National Bushfire appeal. Enjoy a delicious breakfast of bacon and eggs with a side of fresh fruit and juice or tea and coffee.
Enjoy entertainment by local performers including Phoenix Music Studio, Cheap Sunnies, North Gambier Primary School (IELP). Phoenix Music Studios will perform the National Anthem and 'We Are Australian'.
Attendees are reminded, in the interests of sustainability, to bring their own reusable plates & cutlery for the chance to win a prize. We also encourage you to wear something “Australian” as there will be a “Best Dressed” prize given.
Official proceedings will begin at 9:15am with the flag raising and awards ceremony as we celebrate what's great about being Australian, as well as the achievements of the Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year and Community Event of the Year Awardees.
