The independent Living Centre is a government service for people living in South Australia. the service provides free professional advice on techniques and equipment to assist with everyday activities.

Visitors attending the talk will have the opportunity to view/trial a wide range of equipment and discuss their equipment needs with an experienced health professional (Occupational Therapist). Information brochures covering a large variety of topics and disabilities are also available.

The service is available to all members of the public, including people with a disability, injury, or illness, carers, health professionals, organisations/services.

  • Building fixtures and design for access
  • Clothing and dressing
  • Communication aids
  • Computer and vocational aids
  • Eating and drinking utensils
  • Emergency call systems
  • Household and kitchen equipment

  • Lifting, transferring, ramps and hoists
  • Mobility/walking aids
  • recreation
  • Scooters ('gophers')
  • Seating
  • Telephone access
  • Transport: vehicle modifications
  • Wheelchairs: manual and electric.
