Throughout the 2025/2026 Christmas and New Year period, Council's hours of operation and services are as follows:
BIN COLLECTION
Bins will be emptied Wednesday 24 December 2025 instead of Christmas Day. Please ensure bins are out by 6:00am and leave out until collection as there may be slight delays throughout this period.
All other bin collection days will be as normal. Thank you for your patience over the festive season.
COUNCIL OFFICE (CIVIC CENTRE)
The Council office at the Civic Centre will be closed from 12:00pm on Wednesday 24 December 2025 until 9:00am on Monday 5 January 2026.
The after-hours call centre will be available to assist during the closure. Phone 8721 2555 with enquiries, or visit mountgambier.sa.gov.au
THE RIDDOCH ARTS AND CULTURAL CENTRE
The Riddoch will be closed from 12:00pm on Tuesday 24 December 2024 and on Wednesday 25 December 2024. Open all other weekdays from 10:00am to 5:00pm and weekends and public holidays from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
MOUNT GAMBIER LIBRARY
The Library will be closed from 12:00pm on Wednesday 24 December until Friday 26 December 2025 (inclusive). Open as normal from Saturday 27 December to Wednesday 31 December 2025. Closed Thursday 1 January 2026.
MOUNT GAMBIER VISITOR CENTRE
The Visitor Centre will be closed on Thursday 25 December 2025.

WASTE TRANSFER STATION
The Waste Transfer Station will be closed from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 December 2025 and on Thursday 1 January 2026. For all other opening hours visit www.mountgambier.sa.gov.au/WTS
CARINYA GARDENS CEMETERY OFFICE
The Carinya office will be closed from 12:00pm on Wednesday 24 December to Sunday 28 December 2025 (inclusive) and Thursday 1 and Friday 2 January 2026.
