Former local and bestselling author Cathryn Hein returns to the Mount Gambier Library on Tuesday 21 May 2024 at 7:00pm to launch her latest release, The Grazier’s Son.

Manager Library and Community Development Georgina Davison said the team is looking forward to welcoming Cathryn back to the Library for the first time in 10 years.

"We are excited to see Cathryn return to Mount Gambier Library with her latest release The Grazier’s Son,” Mrs Davison said.

The Grazier’s Son follows helicopter pilot Stirling Hawley. When he travels to Grassmoor in Victoria’s lush western districts to claim an inheritance, he doesn’t expect to face a town that hates him. Nor does he anticipate being saved from near-death by glamorous vintage clothing designer Darcy Sloane. Or that she’ll take a personal interest in his recovery. But Grassmoor and Westwind, the historic mansion Stirling inherited from the father he never knew, prove full of surprises.

With 17 books to her name, Cathryn intertwines her love of romance and cooking, serving up another irresistible rural romance tale that readers won't want to put down. Cathryn is a Romance Writers of Australia Romantic Book of the Year finalist and a regular Australian Romance Reader Awards finalist.

Cathryn’s novels exude warmth and emotion, delving into life's challenges with unflinching themes, yet always balanced by the endearing antics of mischievous animals. She succeeds her goal of evoking smiles, sighs and perhaps a tear or two leaving readers with a sense of wonder and joy.
