Junior Sports Assistance Fund supports five athletes

This month the City of Mount Gambier Junior Sports Assistance Fund has supported five more athletes to compete at national and international level. 

Harrison Ellis received a donation of $250 (Mount Gambier & District Little Athletics)  and Jacob Salmon received $200 (discretionary donation) to support their trip to the Sunshine Coast in August to compete in the School Sport South Australia Under 12 Cross Country team. Mercedes Theobald (Lower South East Hockey Association) received $400 after being selected in the state team to compete in the Under 13 Girls 2018 National Hockey Championships in Hobart later this year. Mount Gambier Cycling Club also received $850 for Tess and Luke Wight.

Tess has been selected in the Junior State Team to attend the 2018 Cycling Australia Junior Road National Championships to be held in Bunbury, Western Australia in September 2018 while Luke is off to Aigle, Switzerland in August as part of the 2018 National Junior Track team attending the World Junior Track Championships.

The Fund is extremely pleased to make these donations to the respective clubs and congratulates Harrison, Jacob, Mercedes, Tess and Luke on their selections.

The City of Mount Gambier Junior Sports Assistance Fund is a joint initiative of the City of Mount Gambier, the District Council of Grant and local affiliated sporting organisations to assist local junior sports people.
