Mount Gambier Library will introduce private Sensitive Santa sessions for children with sensory challenges as a new initiative on Monday 12 December 2022.

Mount Gambier Library Children’s and Youth Services Officer Bek Coates said taking trips to busy spaces to visit Santa can be tricky for some families.

“We are offering our inclusive Sensitive Santa sessions where you can book in for a 15-minute one-on-one Santa visit in a dedicated room minus the noise, flashing lights, and lots of people,” Mount Gambier Library Children’s and Youth Services Officer Bek Coates

Upon booking, parents or caregivers will complete a small questionnaire to assist with their child’s unique experience. Santa will already know the child’s name, be aware of any challenges, and if the situation suits, a photo will be taken and given in print and digital to cherish.

“We also welcome little families to book in together so that siblings don’t miss out,” Mrs Coates said.

With limited spaces available, bookings are essential. To book, contact the Mount Gambier Library at 08 8721 2540.
