Mount Gambier Library will participate in National Science Week, bringing the successful Super Science Saturday back for 2025. Head to the Mount Gambier Library on Saturday 9 August 2025 between 9:30am to 12:30pm for some science fun.
Super Science Saturday will be an action-packed morning of hands-on science fun. Activities will be available for every age to explore the exciting world of science and technology.
During the event, you can take part in a range of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) based activities including virtual reality, 3D printing and scanning, science experiments, Sphero robotics, scavenger hunts and also hear from guest speakers Bob Dalgarno and Daniel from OzFish Unlimited.

At 10:00am, join guest speaker Bob Dalgarno for a session on how earth movements and mountain ranges sustain planet earth.
"Bob is a geologist whose career lasted 30 years. His current passion is researching the development of mountain ranges over time, and what this means for Earth. During Bob’s presentation, discover how the shifting of Earth’s crustal plates creates earthquakes, volcanoes, mountains, and mineral deposits."
From 11:30am, guest speaker Daniel from OzFish Unlimited will present ‘citizen science’. Daniel will discuss citizen science opportunities and how anyone can be a scientist.
"Daniel will speak on how important science data collected can be. OzFish Unlimited is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping millions of Australian recreational fishers take control of the health of their rivers, lakes and estuaries."
