Library to introduce Sensitive Storytime

Mount Gambier Library will offer 'Sensitive Storytime' sessions courtesy of a $1,500 grant from National Backyard Cricket, a fundraising program established by national charity Learning for a Better World (LFW) Trust. The first session will be held on Friday 3 December between 11:00am and 12:00pm as part of International Day of People with Disability. Read full article

Sport and Recreation Capital Works Program funding

Draft LTFP open for community consultation

The City of Mount Gambier has released its Draft 2022-2032 Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP) and is now seeking community feedback. The LTFP provides a roadmap to enable Council to prioritise community needs and aspirations. It assists Council to plan, manage and communicate its future objectives in a financially sustainable way. Blue Lake Welcome Centre activated for summer

The Blue Lake Welcome Centre will be re-activated over the summer period from Friday 19 November 2021. The temporary pop up service will be staffed with City of Mount Gambier Visitor Service Officers from Friday to Monday between 10:00am and 3:00pm. Read full article

Santa's Boulevard tickets available

Tickets for the NF McDonnell and Sons Santa’s Boulevard event are available from Monday 15 November 2021. Council’s events team, the Mount Gambier Christmas Parade Advisory Group and many volunteers have been planning the COVID safe drive by static Christmas spectacle to be held on Haig Drive at the Valley Lake in place of the annual Christmas Parade which won’t go ahead due to COVID restrictions. Upcoming exhibitions – Remembering the Future and Recovering the Past

Remembering the Future by Tim Gruchy will launch at the Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre on Friday 12 November 2021 at 6:00pm and will be opened by Director of the Art Gallery of South Australia Rhana Devenport ONZM. Tim is a renowned artist who has worked across immersive and interactive multimedia for the past 30 years with The Riddoch hosting the first regional South Australian exhibition of his works. 2021 Community Mayor's Christmas Appeal

City of Mount Gambier Mayor Lynette Martin encourages local businesses, community groups, families and individuals to consider those who may be struggling this festive season by providing a donation to the 2021 Mount Gambier Community Mayor’s Christmas Appeal. The local community raised a record amount of more than $40,000 for the appeal last year, which is distributed to local support agencies. Read full article

National Recycling Week 2021
