Library launches ‘Be Connected' project

​Mount Gambier Library is aiming to bridge the gap for socially isolated members of the community as part of the ‘Be Connected – Stay Connected’ project. The project follows the library’s successful grant application for $5,000 under the Australian Government’s ‘Be Connected’ program, enabling the purchase of digital devices available for borrowing. Colour your wheelie bin competition

​City of Mount Gambier continues its work in the waste and recycling space with the launch of a competition encouraging residents to paint their recycling bins. Created in response to the popularity of bin outings during COVID-19, the competition enables residents to express creativity while highlighting the importance of recycling. Read full article

Bulky waste collection trial set to commence
30 June 2020

The City of Mount Gambier bulky waste trial will kick off tomorrow, Wednesday 1 July 2020. Endorsed at the May meeting of Council as a further step towards supporting residents during COVID-19, each residential property is eligible for one pick up of up to two cubic metres of hard/bulky waste via a ‘call and collect’ system. Have your say on waste and recycling

​City of Mount Gambier residents will have the chance to win one of four $50 eftpos gift cards by participating in a short survey about their waste and recycling habits. The survey results will help to inform an upcoming waste education campaign developed by Paper Moose, an experienced creative agency with expertise in waste education. Read full article

Pandemic inspires collection exhibition

Opening on Thursday 9 July 2020, the exhibition focuses on interior and exterior spaces, and our relationship to them in the wake of the extraordinary precautions brought about by COVID-19 and a global pandemic. Council adopts 2020/2021 Budget
25 June 2020

​Following community consultation the City of Mount Gambier 2020/2021 Annual Business Plan and Budget was adopted at a Special Council Meeting held on Tuesday 23 June 2020. The budget outlines a total spend of $33.4 million in operating expenditure, depreciation of $7.5 million and total capital expenditure of $37.8 million for the delivery of services, programs and the maintenance of assets. COVID-19 Library restrictions further eased
