Riddoch 10th Birthday Celebrations
30 November 2021
The Riddoch Arts and Culture Centre will celebrate its 10th birthday on Friday 10 December 2021 with a program of events showcasing arts, culture and creativity from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. The community is invited to join staff, volunteers, artists and friends to celebrate the milestone with artisan markets, live mural painting, still life drawing, Virtual Reality (VR) demonstrations and more.

Santa's Boulevard Success
30 November 2021
More than 10,500 people joined the car convoy at the Valley Lakes precinct to see NF McDonnell and Sons Santa’s Boulevard over the past five nights. Demand was strong and free tickets sold out and were replenished several times as interest in the twinkling Christmas display surged.

Santa’s Boulevard magic begins

More than 400 cars streamed through the Valley Lake precinct last night to catch a glimpse of NF McDonnell and Sons Santa’s Boulevard on opening night. The twinkling Christmas display is on show each evening until Monday 29 November 2021 and is delighting people of all ages as we herald in the festive season.

Library to introduce Sensitive Storytime
25 November 2021
Mount Gambier Library will offer 'Sensitive Storytime' sessions courtesy of a $1,500 grant from National Backyard Cricket, a fundraising program established by national charity Learning for a Better World (LFW) Trust. The first session will be held on Friday 3 December between 11:00am and 12:00pm as part of International Day of People with Disability.

Sport and Recreation Capital Works Program funding

City of Mount Gambier will distribute $100,000 to eight local sporting clubs as part of the 2021/2022 Sport and Recreation Capital Works Program which aims to increase community usage of sport and recreation facilities.

Draft LTFP open for community consultation
19 November 2021
The City of Mount Gambier has released its Draft 2022-2032 Long Term Financial Plan (LTFP) and is now seeking community feedback. The LTFP provides a roadmap to enable Council to prioritise community needs and aspirations. It assists Council to plan, manage and communicate its future objectives in a financially sustainable way.

Blue Lake Welcome Centre activated for summer
17 November 2021
The Blue Lake Welcome Centre will be re-activated over the summer period from Friday 19 November 2021. The temporary pop up service will be staffed with City of Mount Gambier Visitor Service Officers from Friday to Monday between 10:00am and 3:00pm.

Santa's Boulevard tickets available
10 November 2021
Tickets for the NF McDonnell and Sons Santa’s Boulevard event are available from Monday 15 November 2021. Council’s events team, the Mount Gambier Christmas Parade Advisory Group and many volunteers have been planning the COVID safe drive by static Christmas spectacle to be held on Haig Drive at the Valley Lake in place of the annual Christmas Parade which won’t go ahead due to COVID restrictions.

Upcoming exhibitions – Remembering the Future and Recovering the Past
04 November 2021
Remembering the Future by Tim Gruchy will launch at the Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre on Friday 12 November 2021 at 6:00pm and will be opened by Director of the Art Gallery of South Australia Rhana Devenport ONZM. Tim is a renowned artist who has worked across immersive and interactive multimedia for the past 30 years with The Riddoch hosting the first regional South Australian exhibition of his works.
