Lights out for Earth Hour
25 March 2020

​City of Mount Gambier is turning the lights off at prominent locations on Saturday 28 March 2020 as part of the global conservation movement, Earth Hour. Lights at Centenary Tower, City Hall, Lady Nelson Brig, Library, Main Corner and Vansittart Park will be switched off for one hour between 8:30pm and 9:30pm ​as part of one of the largest global grassroots movements for the environment​. ACMI brings 'Cleverman' to Main Corner

​The Riddoch and Main Corner Complex will welcome ACMI, the Australian Centre for Moving Image to Mount Gambier with world premiere exhibition, Cleverman. The exhibition celebrates the award-winning ABC indigenous superhero television series of the same name. Read full article

Bookmark Café welcomes new operator
06 March 2020

City of Mount Gambier has partnered with Limestone Coast Pantry to continue operation of the Bookmark Café, located within the Mount Gambier Library. Council resolved to enter into a service agreement with the local business at its February 2020 meeting, following an expression of interest process resulting from the retirement of the previous operator. The Partnershipping Project sails into The Riddoch

​The Riddoch Art Gallery will open national touring exhibition The Partnershipping Project on Friday 6 March 2020 at 6:00pm. Featuring 20 regional visual artists, the exhibition centres around the question ‘as online experiences take up more time in our lives, do our relationships to place still matter?’ Read full article

Roll up your sleeves for Clean Up Australia Day

​City of Mount Gambier is encouraging members of the community to roll up their sleeves and help contribute to an unpolluted environment for Clean Up Australia Day this Sunday 1 March 2020. Council donates funds to RFDS facility
25 February 2020

City of Mount Gambier has provided a $15,000 donation to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Patient Transfer Facility. Resolving to make the donation at the full meeting of Council in November 2019, City of Mount Gambier representatives today visited the new facility to make a presentation to Mount Gambier RFDS Support Group President Bill Russon. 2020 - 2024 Strategic Plan consultation now open

The City of Mount Gambier is seeking feedback on its 2020 - 2024 Draft Strategic Plan. The draft plan is based on aspirations identified in the Council’s long-term visionary plan, the Futures Paper, and the strategies and actions featured will guide the Council over the next four years.
