The Riddoch invites you to The Wonder Room, a children’s gallery opening at the Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre on 10 December 2022.
The Wonder Room welcomes young artists and their families to enjoy creative activities that celebrate all the things that are special about summer in Mount Gambier.
Manager Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre Diana Warnes said participation is important for kids to grow and develop as creatives.
“The hands-on making activities offer a scaffolded approach for different ages, from sensory experiences for little ones through to paper-based activities for older kids. The Wonder Room is an exciting experience for families this summer,” Manager Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre Diana Warnes
Families can take part in a range of self-guided activities that include creating native animal masks to wear, designing a bird to hang on a tree installation by The Men’s Shed, and creating new colour combinations with their movements with the colour shadow installation. The Wonder Room will also have making tables, an interactive felt pattern wall, extra-large building blocks, and the perfect selfie station with a giant throne under a rainbow.
Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre Programming Officer Emma Telford said “The Wonder Room was created to invite the community into our beautiful space to celebrate Mount Gambier in the summertime, providing a free outing to families to keep the young ones building, creating and dancing.”
The Wonder Room will be accessible during the Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre opening hours from Saturday 10 December 2022 to 26 February 2023. For more information on the exhibition and workshop visit www.theriddoch.com.au or follow social media channels @theriddoch.
