Council services during lockdown

Council provides the following update regarding Council services during the SA Government mandated seven-day lockdown from 6:00pm on 20 July 2021.

Civic Centre customer service counter - CLOSED

Residents are encouraged to use online payments where possible and to make enquiries via phone on 8721 2555, email city@mountgambier.sa.gov.au or visit Council’s website www.mountgambier.sa.gov.au

Mount Gambier Library - CLOSED

Online services remain available at: http://www.mountgambier.sa.gov.au/library

The Riddoch Arts & Cultural Centre - CLOSED

ReUse Market - CLOSED

The ReUse Market open day scheduled for Saturday 24 July 2021 has been cancelled.

The Mount Gambier Visitor Centre – CLOSED

Kerbside bin collection

No changes to kerbside bin collection.

Waste Transfer Station

Closed to the general public, except for essential commercial operators.

Works Depot

The Works Depot is closed to the public however essential and emergency works will continue around the city.

Carinya Gardens Cemetery and Chapel - CLOSED

Visiting the cemetery is not one of the reasons to leave home.

Talk to your funeral director regarding funeral services.

Public amenities

The following toilet blocks remain open and will be serviced during the lockdown period: Cave Garden, Frew Park, James Street, Ripley Arcade, Commerce Arcade and Vansittart Park.

All other public amenities including those associated with playgrounds, skate parks and the Pump Track are closed.

Council acknowledges that the disruption to services may cause inconvenience to the community, however we take our responsibility for public health seriously and have based these decisions on the most current information and advice.
