E-Waste

Unwanted computer and electrical equipment can be dropped off for recycling at the Waste Transfer Station.

Your e-waste can be recycled into many components, instead of going into landfill. All e-waste collected is sent to certified recyclers.

An e-waste recycling service is available at the Waste Transfer Centre, 5 Eucalypt Drive, Mount Gambier. Phone: (08) 8723 9257.

Mount Gambier residents and small businesses can drop off TV's, computers and computer products at the Mount Gambier Waste Transfer Centre for free. The Mount Gambier Waste Transfer Centre is located at 5 Eucalypt Drive. This service is free for Mount Gambier residents and small business only. Customers coming from outside of Mount Gambier will be charged a fee for recycling these items. The Waste Transfer Centre is a collection site for the National TV & Computer Recycling Scheme. Under the scheme the following items can be dropped off for free:

  • All televisions (CRTs, plasma, LCD, LED and projection televisions), desktop and portable computers,
  • Monitors,
  • Mice,
  • Keyboards,
  • Cables,
  • Drives,
  • Printers,
  • Scanners, and
  • Computer-related peripherals.

Equipment that is heavily damaged or dismantled may not be accepted and all other e-waste items will continue to attract a fee.
