Doing business with Council

When procuring goods and services, Council is guided by the following procurement principles which provide structure and transparency while aiming to deliver the best value for our community:

  • Encouragement of open and effective competition,
  • Obtaining value for money,
  • Probity, accountability and transparency,
  • Ethical behaviour and fair dealing,
  • Risk management,
  • Work Health and Safety,
  • Environmental sustainability,
  • Local economic benefit and social inclusion,
  • Social impact, and
  • Effective management of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle.

All procurement activities undertaken by or on behalf of Council are required to comply with Council's Procurement Policy.

Prequalified Contractor Register

Council has established a Prequalified Contractor Register which includes businesses and individuals who have been assessed as meeting minimum requirements and criteria for the provision of services.

To be included on the register, contractors are required to complete the Prequalified Contractor Application Form and forward to Council along with the mandatory supporting documentation.

Once an application has been assessed, successful applicants will be added to the register and notified of any next steps required.

Please note that inclusion in Council's Prequalified Contractor Register does not commit, obligate or otherwise create a legal obligation on the City of Mount Gambier to purchase the services from or contract work to the contractor.

Please don’t hesitate to contact a member of the Procurement Team for assistance.

Tenders, Quotations and Expressions of Interest

For major purchases of goods, services or works, Council may approach the market using one of the following online platforms:

SA Tenders and Contracts

tenders.sa.gov.au is our primary platform for advertising open procurement opportunities such as construction projects, maintenance services and consultancies.
Prospective suppliers are encouraged to register to ensure they are notified of any opportunities.
(Note: To download the documentation from the SA Tenders and Contracts website, you must be a registered user and signed in).
Public tender/quote/EOI opportunities can be viewed below when available.

Vendor Panel
Local Government Association Procurement (LGAP) periodically establishes and renews approved supplier panel contracts. These contracts are often used by Council when purchasing fleet and plant items and other miscellaneous goods and services where available. Further information is available from LGAP - www.lga.sa.gov.au/lgaprocurement/for-suppliers/supplier-eoi-form
