Time(s)

Workshop participants will each create a 3D work out of recycled cardboard, a material that itself is made of forest products. They will explore a range of construction techniques and experiment with shapes to express a detail of life within a forest in abstracted form. These may be left as raw cardboard or embellished with surface texture, colour or collage.

Finally participants will be guided through the process of photographing their completed sculpture [using their own phones where possible] in a way that incorporates shadows as an integral part of the photograph. Photographs from various angles will emphasise the importance of viewing a sculpture from various angles and the range of readings that are possible from one sculpture.

Outcomes will be two artworks: a small cardboard sculpture [free-standing or designed to hang on a wall] and a photograph that could be printed and framed.

Materials and morning tea provided. Suitable for ages 16+

Cost $60. Register here.
