The 2019 Mount Gambier Horse Trials will see 170 horses converge on the Mount Gambier & Districts Pony Club grounds.
The Horse Trials competition sees combinations compete across three disciplines; dressage, cross country and show jumping. The event starts early Saturday morning, with the dressage phase. Show Jumping and Cross Country are held on Sunday. Mick Pineo is the Cross Country Course designer, he has been building here at Mount Gambier for several years as well as building for many other events, most notably the Adelaide International Horse Trials. There is catering available both days, starting early with bacon and egg rolls on both days. Spectators are welcome and entry to the venue is free of charge. As well as individual honours there is also a strong interstate rivalry at this event with the South Australia v Victoria challenge, a team event where riders compete for the prestigious title of most successful eventing state.
