Friends of the Library Book Sale returns for 2025

Friends of the Library Mount Gambier will hold their annual Big Book Sale on Saturday 26 July 2025, from 9:00am to 1:00pm at the Mount Gambier Library. Donations of books and other items are currently being sought to support the event. Proceeds from the sale will be reinvested in to library resources, as part of the Friends’ major annual fundraising effort. Read full article

Media statement: lamb welfare incident

The welfare of animals is a priority for the City of Mount Gambier, and we remain committed to acting swiftly and responsibly when animals are in need. On Sunday evening 8 June 2025, Council was notified regarding three lambs wandering dangerously close to traffic along Jubilee Highway East. A Council officer responded promptly and, with the immediate safety of both motorists and the animals in mind, worked quickly to remove the lambs from harm. Given the busy traffic conditions, low visibility, and the high risk of a serious accident, the lambs were secured in the nearest safe and enclosed location - Dimjalla Skate Park. Read full article
