Two authors - one night only
14 November 2023

Mount Gambier Library is thrilled to host two bestselling authors, Jennifer Mackenzie Dunbar and Kim Lock, on Wednesday 22 November at 7:00pm.

Jennifer Mackenzie Dunbar’s writing draws on her love of history, music, and mythology as she explores the stories left untold in conventional historical accounts. Jennifer's latest historical novel Missing Pieces is inspired by the 1831 discovery of a hoard of priceless chess pieces on a remote Scottish Island. It tells the story of four women who created and protected the now famous artefacts.

Kim Lock is an internationally published author of five novels, based here in the south-east of South Australia. Her essays and opinion pieces on writing, feminism and motherhood have been published widely, including in The Guardian and The Sydney Morning Herald. Kim’s latest page turner, The Fancies, is based in a crayfishing town where everyone knows everyone and a surprise arrival forces a family and entire town to unpack a 24-year-old secret that has rocked this tiny place to its core.

This is an in-conversation event with Jennifer and Kim taking the lead in interviewing each other. The audience will be thoroughly entertained as they discuss writing, research, inspirations, and their latest books. - Team Leader Library Programs Kristi Brooks

Books will be available for sale and signing, and both authors will be happy to answer any questions from the audience.
