Library Bookmark Café to close
17 August 2021

The Bookmark Café located in the Mount Gambier Library will close in its current format at the end of the contract on Friday 20 August 2021. Limestone Coast Pantry has been operating the Bookmark Café for almost two years and supported the Library during the challenges of providing modified services during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Wulanda timber beam installation and roofing
10 August 2021

BADGE Constructions, Williams Crane Hire and specialist timber beam erectors have made the most of the fine weather conditions on site at the Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre at Olympic Park in recent days erecting 8 of the 13 HESS Timber rafters over the pool hall area. The largest of all, spanning 42 metres and weighing about 7 tonnes is being fitted over the pool hall in the video within. Read full article

2021/2022 Creative Arts Fund applications open

City secures joint custodianship of Blue Lake land

​Crown Lands - Department for Environment and Water (DEW) has granted City of Mount Gambier and SA Water joint custodianship of a key land parcel at the Blue Lake. It follows the expiry of a 21-year licence between SA Water and Council for the Crown Land on 31 December 2020. Read full article

SA lockdown message from the Mayor

​The State Government has advised that a seven-day statewide lockdown will be enforced from 6:00pm 20 July 2021, due to a cluster of COVID-19 cases in South Australia. I understand and appreciate the frustration some people feel when the government takes action to limit interactivity. However, these directives are issued to protect the health and safety of our community. Medical experts have advised that the Delta strain of COVID-19 is highly transmissible, so strict precautions are necessary to stop the spread of the virus. Read full article

Farming and art collide in latest exhibition
08 July 2021

​A new exhibition that links leading artists with regenerative farmers will open on Friday 16 July 2021 at 6:00pm. Hosted by the Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre, the exhibition, Earth Canvas, highlights engagement with the landscape through a creative lens and explores the experiences of both the regenerative farmer and the artist, their respective engagement with the land and their vision for a healthier world. COVID-19 message from Mayor Martin
30 June 2021

Following formal advice on the State Government 'COVID-19 Response' webpage, social restrictions have been reinstated due to COVID-19 cases in South Australia. In the Limestone Coast, masks are highly recommended in indoor public areas and on public transport, it is recommended that people work from home if possible, unless they are essential workers, and people must use QR codes or the manual check in system to check in when attending other locations.
