My Paintings Speak For Me @ The Riddoch

​South Australian visual artist Kunyi June Anne McInerney’s exhibition 'My Paintings Speak For Me' will be on display at the Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre (formerly The Riddoch and Main Corner Complex) from Saturday 26 September 2020. The exhibition draws upon the artist’s childhood experiences as a member of the Stolen Generation growing up in the Oodnadatta Children’s Home during the 1950’s. Read full article

Community and Rec Hub Site Preparation Event

​The City of Mount Gambier will hand over the Olympic Park site on Margaret Street to head contractor for the Community and Recreation Hub project BADGE Constructions on Monday 28 September 2020. Disability Access Inclusion Plan Public Consultation

Following endorsement at the September 2020 Council meeting, the draft Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2020 – 2024 framework is now open for public consultation. The plan is a first of its kind for the City of Mount Gambier and outlines how Council proposes to provide equal access to services for all members of the community, regardless of ability. Plans for revised Christmas Parade underway

​The 2020 NF McDonnell and Sons Mount Gambier Christmas Parade will take the form of a static display at Blue Lake Sports Park due to COVID-19 requirements. The event will be held on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2020 and will provide an opportunity for residents to drive through to view a Christmas-themed display. Read full article

Australian master of fiction Victoria Purman to visit

​Mount Gambier Library will host author Victoria Purman to celebrate her latest release The Women’s Pages on Thursday 17 September 2020 at 7:00pm. Hailed as the master of Australian fiction, Victoria will discuss her latest book based on real experiences of post-war Australian women at the event to be held in the Dress Circle at The Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre. Head contractor appointed for Rec Hub
