​The Romans are coming, and we need help! Presented by the Riddoch Art Gallery, exclusively to South Australian audiences, Ancient Rome: The Empire that Shaped the World, is an award-winning exhibition, on display from Saturday 17 August 2019 - Sunday 10 November 2019. With over 200 exhibits including artefacts, catapults, frescoes, armour, weapons and busts painstakingly reconstructed from ancient Roman records, this exhibition will be bigger than Ben-Hur! We are looking for volunteers to help take part in this exciting and ambitious event. Read full article

Council backs 3 year funding agreement for SEAWL
24 May 2019

​City of Mount Gambier has rescinded a resolution made on Tuesday 16 April 2019 to provide the South East Animal Welfare League (SEAWL) with $60,000 in 2019/20. Instead, at a meeting on Tuesday 21 May 2019 Council resolved to enter into a three year funding agreement with the District Council of Grant and SEAWL commencing 1 July 2019. Read full article

Community and Rec Hub - What will we name it?

Draft Budget released for community consultation

​Local residents are invited to participate in the community consultation process as part of the City of Mount Gambier 2019/2020 Draft Annual Business Plan and Budget review. Council formally endorsed the plan and budget at a special meeting on Monday 13 May 2019. The draft budget supports the strategies, initiatives, services and projects aligned with Council’s Community Plan – The Futures Paper (2016-2020), Long Term Financial Plan and Infrastructure and Asset Management Plans. Fund assists athletes to compete at the next level

​The City of Mount Gambier Junior Sports Assistance Fund has made a number of donations to assist talented local sports people to compete at state level or higher in their chosen sport in recent months. The latest donations have been made to member organisations Basketball Mount Gambier, Mount Gambier and District Little Athletics, Lower South East Hockey Association and Mount Gambier and Districts Baseball League.
