Council honours sponsorship for cancelled events
23 April 2020
With COVID-19 causing the cancellation and postponement of a number of events, Council this week resolved to provide support to community event organisers. At the April meeting, Council endorsed the payment of part or all sponsorship funding for events where a commitment was made in advance of the public health emergency.

Council seeks input to develop business support plan

City of Mount Gambier is committed to continue working with the community to prepare for a strong recovery following COVID-19. Having provided financial support to sporting, community and tourism tenants and residents experiencing hardship, supporting community services and continuing to roll out capital works programs, Council is now seeking to understand the current needs of the business community.

Council endorse COVID-19 response
02 April 2020
Council held a special meeting this week to consider a number of measures to assist the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the online meeting Elected Members endorsed a multifaceted strategy focused on supporting the community under the key areas of ‘our people’, ‘our economy’ and ‘our recovery’.

Lights out for Earth Hour
25 March 2020
City of Mount Gambier is turning the lights off at prominent locations on Saturday 28 March 2020 as part of the global conservation movement, Earth Hour. Lights at Centenary Tower, City Hall, Lady Nelson Brig, Library, Main Corner and Vansittart Park will be switched off for one hour between 8:30pm and 9:30pm as part of one of the largest global grassroots movements for the environment.
